Biography



At a young age while living in Chile, John was classically trained under the tutelage of master portrait artist Sergio Montero.

Over the years, he has developed his own unique style of painting which is characterized as being quite an opposite to the traditional Rembrandt style Chiaroscuro technique.

His style is based on the use of hard contrasting brush strokes, vibrant color palettes, and a careful use of soft and hard edges in order to maximize the appearance of volume and connection with the background. With this method, he uses either brush or spatula to explore his creativity while producing immersive and vibrant pieces.
